The big winner at Cinespaña was the feature-length musical “La Estrella azul,” which won five awards including the Golden Violet for best film. The film will be screened on Sunday at the Pathé Wilson in Toulouse.
The festival's jury is headed by French-Portuguese actress and director Maria de Medeiros CineSpania He praised “La Estrella azul” (“The Blue Star”) by Javier Masip. This road movie takes you on a journey to Spain and Argentina on a moving journey of musical inspiration in the land of Atahualpa Yupanqui and Mercedes Sosa who also sang “Estrella azul” beautifully. This professional selection joins the spectators' selection who awarded him the Audience Award.
“Estamos no ar,” a funny and offbeat Portuguese film, won three awards including the New Director Award for Diogo Costa Amarante. The two films will be shown on Sunday, October 13, the closing day of the 29th sessione Cinespaña edition that received prestigious guests including actress Ana Torrent and director Isabel Coixet.
