Mourinho responds to the appointment of Eric Ten Hag

Jose Mourinho told reporters that everything that happens at Manchester United in terms of appointing new managers is not his business.

Mourinho said Manchester United was not his club and had no advice regarding the appointment of Eric ten Hag as their new manager.

The Portuguese also criticized Tottenham for sacking him before the Carabao Cup final last season.

Manchester United confirmed last week that Eric ten Hag, who currently coaches Ajax, will replace interim coach Ralf Rangnick.

Mourinho is one of four managers appointed and dismissed by the Manchester United hierarchy since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson and the Portuguese spent just over two years at Old Trafford.

During his pre-match press conference on Wednesday before the match against Leicester City, the Portuguese was asked to give his opinion on the appointment of the Ajax coach by his former club.

Mourinho replied: “I brought up the topic – my old team. Not my team.

“No, I have no advice to give. »

Prior to his sudden sacking by Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy, Mourinho had the chance to win the Carabao Cup after leading the team to the final against Manchester City last season, but was sent off just days before the match at Wembley.

Mourinho added: “I have to admit that in my long career, with so many things happening, this has been absolutely unique.”

“But Mr. Levi [le président de Tottenham, Daniel Levy] He is also a very unique person.”
