Milan’s Rafael Liao was named Player of the Year by his teammates

(Belga) Portuguese Rafael Leao (AC Milan) was awarded the best player award in the Italian Football Championship at the “Gran Gala del Calcio” organized by the Italian Players Association (AIC) on Monday evening.

Liao, 23, was one of Milan’s greatest architects during the 2021/2022 season, with 11 goals and 10 assists in 34 games. He succeeds Romelu Lukaku in the list of winners of this cup, which was awarded after the votes of the Italian league players, coaches, referees, journalists, coaches and former coaches of Italy. The Portuguese had already won the award for best player from the Italian Serie A. Milan logically dominated the ceremony, with Stefano Pioli being named ‘Coach of the Year’ and Frenchman Mike Minnan winning the Best Goalkeeper’s Cup.
