Admittedly, it is a less exclusive model than the 3.0 CSL, but the M3 CS will still be very rare due to the fact that only 1,000 copies will be sold worldwide. In addition, they will all be equipped with xDrive all-wheel drive and equipped with an eight-speed gearbox provided by German supplier ZF. BMW commands a modest $150,085, which includes shipping and a PDI of $2,085.

So what are we dealing with? BMW starts by reducing the net mass of its popular high-performance sedan. It achieves its goals by replacing certain components with carbon fiber parts. The performance seats are also made of this material and the rims have also been lightened. This is a net mass reduction of 34 kilograms (75 lb) compared to the regular M3 Competition.

Then the M3 CS underwent an increase in the rigidity of its frame. The brakes have also been modified for the manufacturer’s M Compound, but carbon-ceramic brakes are available as an option. Adaptive dampers are said to have been developed specifically for the CS, along with M Servotronic variable electronic steering.

Finally, the power of the 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six is increased, from 503 to 543 horsepower. Torque, however, remains the same at 479 lb-ft. According to BMW, the M3 CS completes the 0-100 km/h sprint in just 3.4 seconds, thanks to the cannon start system. It can then reach a top speed of 302 kilometers per hour.
