King Philip at the premiere of “Without Borders” on his first round-the-world trip

King Philip went to the Callao cinema in Madrid on Tuesday evening, 7 June. The King of Spain walked the rolled red carpet at the premiere of Sin Límites, which will soon be broadcast on Spanish public television. The series tells the story of the first flight of Magellan and Elcano around the world. The series’ release coincides with the campaign’s 500th anniversary celebrations.

A few weeks ago, Honorary Queen Sofia of Spain traveled to Miami to begin celebrations for the 500th anniversary of her first circumnavigation of the world. On September 19, 1519, five ships under the command of the Portuguese navigator Fernand Magellan left Spain. In April 1521, upon Magellan’s death, navigator Juan Sebastian Elenco resumed command of the two remaining ships. On September 8, 1522, Elcano and the last 18 survivors of the expedition arrived in Seville, becoming the first to circumnavigate the world in a single expedition.

Between 2019 and 2022, several ceremonies are held to commemorate this circumambulation. June 7 was shown in the first episode of the series The limits of sin, at the Callao cinema in Madrid. The series will be broadcast on public television channels RTVE but will also be available internationally on Amazon Prime. The French title of the series is no limits.

The story of the circumnavigation of Magellan and Elcano has been adapted as a series

The series, in 6 episodes of 40 minutes, narrates “The Epic Journey of Juan Sebastian Elcano and Ferdinand Magellan Around the World after Leaving Spain in 1519”writing critical sense. King Felipe was among the guests of honor at this preview. The King of Spain is depicted alongside the series’ cast, including Alvaro Morte, known for playing Sergio Marquina or “The Professor,” in the series. Casa de Papel.
