HTDS Introduces a New Portable Mass Spectrometer

This tool was designed by Flir Corporation to identify all chemical agents on site.

Griffin 510 from Teledyne Flairmarketed by HTDS It is designed to provide intervention teams with a simpler and more versatile tool for chemical identification and detection of CG/SM type products. Quadrupole Linear Mass Spectrometry using the NIST/EPA and NIH libraries, this new detection solution complements technologies used during emergency missions, allowing responders to analyze all phases of matter (liquid, solid, and gaseous) and perform rapid on-site confirmation of potential chemical hazards.

The built-in hot sample probe allows operators to identify gas-phase chemical threats in seconds when the instrument is used in “scan” mode. The integrated/discrete injector allows for sampling of environmental, forensic and hazardous materials by injection with a syringe of body fluids. The Grifin 510 works with a touch screen and automated user controls. The instrument is IP65 certified and heat-resistant from 0 to 40°C, with a relative humidity of less than 95%.
