While waiting for the stunning “first lights” of the James Webb Space Observatory, which will be announced on Tuesday, July 12, we invite you to discover the images in the race for the most prestigious astronomy photographer of the year. Prizes, having several categories, will be awarded on September 15, 2022.

We invite you to discover the 35 selected images, all taken by amateur astrophotographers, too sure for some, divided into 10 categories. Two special prizes have been added to these ten categories. Sir Patrick Moore Award for Best Newcomer and Annie Maunder Award for innovation in image processing using open access satellite data.
The winning photos will be announced on Thursday 15th September.
