Eurovision Junior: France’s Lisandro wins the contest thanks to his song “Oh Mama!”

France’s Lisandro, 13, won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest on Sunday, December 11, in Yerevan, Armenia.

France won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, Sunday December 11, thanks to the song “Oh Maman!” by Lisandro. The music was co-written by Barbara Braffy, who finished second in the Classical Eurovision Song Contest in 2021 with the song Voilà.

The competition was held in Yerevan, Armenia and brought together 16 countries: Albania, Armenia, Spain, France, Georgia, Ireland, Italy, Kazakhstan, North Macedonia, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, United Kingdom, Serbia and Ukraine.

Lead judges vote

Young Lisandro, 13, came out on top after the judges voted, in this competition for children between the ages of 9 and 14. The public vote finally resulted in victory for the teenager from the Moselle. Each vote counts towards 50% of the final score.

After Valentina’s victory in 2020, France organized the competition in 2021, which saw the victory of the Armenian Malena. But this year in Yerevan, Lisandro brought the trophy for the second time in 3 years.

The Voice Kids passed on it

Originally from Moselle, it was young Lisandro, aged 13, who donned the colors of France at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

The French audience has already noticed that the young singer has already made a pass in The Voice Kids, where his talent led him to the final. Following an internal competition, France Télévisions has named the youngster as the country’s representative at Junior Eurovision, Télé Loisirs reports.
