Egypt sacks Portugal coach Carlos Queiroz

The Egyptian Football Association announced, on Sunday, the abandonment of the services of the Portuguese national team coach, Carlos Queiroz. The Egyptians did not accept that they did not qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

After the defeat in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers in Qatar, the Board of Directors of the Football Association, headed by Gamal Allam, discussed the future of the coach of the Egyptian national team.

The Board of Directors did not want to continue the adventure with Portuguese coach Carlos Queiroz, and the Federation announced the termination of the contract by mutual consent.

Queiroz had taken charge of the Pharaohs in September 2021, and despite being a strong favorite in the Africa Cup of Nations and World Cup qualifiers, she failed to qualify for this all-important match.

According to the members of the federation, discussions took place about the future of the coach of Egypt with his presence with the expiration of his contract. But the two parties failed to reach an agreement and decided not to continue negotiations and instead terminated the contract.
