Eduardo Mortara hits a double kick in Marrakech

The Swiss (Venturi) won the Marrakech E-Prix on Saturday and topped the world championship after ten out of sixteen rounds.

Eduardo Mortara beat Portugal’s Antonio Felix da Costa (DS-Techeetah) and New Zealand’s Mitch Evans (Jaguars). France’s Jean-Eric Vergne (DS-Techeetah) finished fourth. The Swiss, who started second on the line behind da Costa, dominated the race and withstood the onslaught of both teams DS-Techeetah. Da Costa even let Vergne pass to try to earn him championship points, but the Frenchman, who injured one of his aerodynamic front guards, had to let him pass before losing third place in the final laps.

This is the third victory this season for the Swiss driver from the Monaco team, who now has 139 points in the world championship, ahead of Virginia by 11 points. Mortara, 35, has been racing in Formula E since 2017 and won a total of five ePrix cars.

Belgian Stoffel Vandoorne, who had been leading the championship before Marrakesh, finished eighth and now finds himself third, 14 points off the leader.
