Cristiano Ronaldo criticized for taking a picture with his friend Jordan Peterson

Cristiano Ronaldo has been criticized for taking a picture with far-right psychologist Jordan Peterson.

Peterson has developed a large number of followers online due to his controversial social views.

He has previously appeared on UFC commentator Joe Rogan’s podcast, and made controversial comments about race as well as climate change.

Despite this, Manchester United striker Ronaldo met Peterson and shared a picture of the duo on Instagram.

The Golden Ball commented five times on his message: “Happy to see you, my friend! #See you soon.”

Peterson left a comment, “I have seldom met anyone so clearly deserving of what they have earned. Nice to meet you.”

The post garnered more than five million likes, but fans criticized the 37-year-old on social media.

One person said: “The concept of the conversation between Cristiano Ronaldo and Jordan Peterson is amazing.”

A second situation: “Cristiano Ronaldo with Jordan Peterson, the man who said feminists have an ‘unconscious desire for brutal male domination’.”

One of them tweeted: “Cristiano Ronaldo appears with Jordan King Peterson, I didn’t think I could hate this guy more.”

While another added: “Not to mention the real talk about why Ronaldo met Jordan Peterson for Lymfaw.”

Ronaldo tried to leave United in the summer in search of a place in the Champions League.

The 37-year-old is keen to maintain his scoring record in the competition. He currently has 140 goals, while his lifelong rival Lionel Messi has scored 125 goals.

However, no concrete offers arrived, and Ronaldo played his first Europa League match in 20 years on Thursday as United lost 1-0 to Real Sociedad.

Ronaldo had the ball in the net in the first half, but it was ruled out for offside.

Overall he didn’t have a good game and Liverpool legend Steve Nicol harshly criticized the Portugal international over the weekend.

“I’ll be honest, when you talk about the game, the only thing that comes to mind is Ronaldo scores and two players catch him,” Nicole told ESPN.

“That kind of comes to mind. And he took another look. He had some other chances, not as good as this one, but something was missing.”

“That’s what I think of when I think about this game. There wasn’t a lot between the two teams, there weren’t a lot of chances in the match.

“But that is the only thing I can think of. The fact that Ronaldo looked so flawless and looked like he was 36 or 37 years old.”
