Four days before facing OM, Sporting Portugal won the championship on Friday night at home against Gil Vincente (3-1).
A few days after returning to the Champions League, Sporting Portugal reassured themselves in the tournament with a 3-1 win at home against Gil Vincente. After a break before the first half hour of play by Hidemasa Morita (16) and Pedro Gonçalves (22), the Lisbon residents increased the score at the end of the match by means of Rocinha (82). Fran Navarro’s score downgrading (90 + 3) didn’t change anything.
With the match in advance, Sporting players temporarily rise to seventh in the standings (13 points), 3 points off the podium.
