Beaumont de Lomany. The Fermat Society of Science celebrates the Spring of Poets

Like every year, as part of the Printemps des poetes, an event that has become national, the Fermat Science will celebrate poetry on Saturday 19 March at 4 pm, in the orange room of the Dubosc. For over thirty years, Hervé Berteaux has shared with the public his passion for medieval and Renaissance literature. Poems, lighting, music, all good for him to revive the ambiance of the past in the theaters where the troubadours performed. The daredevils and the wanderers. Loire’s linguistic boundaries make the difference. Hervé Berteaux borrowed his collection of local lyric poets and their works in the langue d’oc.

Court Love Celebration

Young and old, young and old, gentlemen and ladies, you are all invited to dive into our history. Meeting Hervé Berto, this extraordinary character, and through him discovering the extraordinary characters whose voice has become so forgotten today is a beautiful experience in which you will participate without a time machine or sophisticated apparatus through the simple magic of storytelling.

Presenting at the conference “Amor à mort”, a talk where knowledge yields nothing for humour, Hervé Berteaux will invite his audience to question the place that troubadours attribute to women in their work to celebrate “gentle love”. In this century when women question the equality of the sexes and their place in society, one might wonder if the troubadours were as polite as they seemed to put a woman on a pedestal and turn her into an idol.

This show, which promises a lot of fun, followed by a discussion where, without a doubt, passion will have its place, is a moment not to be missed.
