The 100,000 Entrepreneurs Association is launching the 10th edition of Youth Awareness Weeks on Women’s Entrepreneurship on Monday. An example is in Beaumont-de-Lomagne, where Fermat Science’s goal is to enhance the image of women in science and vice versa.

From March 7-25, women’s entrepreneurship is in the spotlight, with the tenth edition of Youth Awareness Weeks dedicated to the topic. Since 2013, the association’s 100,000 entrepreneurs and its partners have mobilized around this issue in and out of school.

The goal is twofold, explained Charlotte Jacob, facilitator in the Occitanie region of the organizing association: “It is a matter of raising awareness among young people aged 13-25 about women-led entrepreneurship and professional diversity., through testimonials from entrepreneurs who will be actively involved Interact with youth, workshops or even conferences.

Tarn-et-Garonne is taking part in the action with the help of Fermat Science. In Beaumont de Lomani, the association also chose to associate it with the Women in Science 82nd Days. An event organized every year for school children. “We therefore want to strengthen the image of women and girls in science, but also the image of science among women and girls,” explains Sabine Poltana Aryas, Education Coordinator.

Scientists at the forefront

Workshops, meetings, discussions, conferences, exhibitions … For two days, third-year students of the Jean Jaures College of Montauban (Monday 7) and fourth-year students of the College of Alain Savary in Fronton (Tuesday, March 8) will work around women scientists. “We will have in particular the intervention of the Society Les Maths en Scène de Toulouse, which will come to speak of Sophie Germain, mathematician and philosopher, on the origin of the theory of elastic surfaces that allowed the construction of the Eiffel Tower,” explains Sabine Boltana-Arriaz, and the students will then have to try to build Tower about 50 cm high using spaghetti and a spool of sewing thread.
