Athletics: The improbable dive at the finish line of a Portuguese competitor (video)

The Portuguese Joao Vitor de Oliveira made an unlikely dive, this Tuesday, at the European Athletics Championships in Munich (Germany), to qualify for the semi-finals of the 110m hurdles of a thousandth of a second.

All means are good to qualify. This is what Portugal’s Joao Vitor de Oliveira told himself on Tuesday during the 110m hurdles series of the European Athletics Championships in Munich (Germany).

After crossing the ten hurdles, Lusitano was slightly behind his opponents and was not in a position to reach the semi-finals. Then he did not hesitate and literally fell over the finish line.

An unlikely technique because it paid off since the Portuguese athlete won his qualification for the semi-finals by a thousandth of a second. And it doesn’t matter if his fall is somewhat painful.

So he will be present at the start on Wednesday evening, just as France’s Just Kwau Mathie, Pascal Martinnot Lagarde, Sacha Chua and Uriel Manga, with the ambition of securing a place in the final.
