An Algerian-Portuguese business forum will soon be held in Lisbon

An Algerian-Portuguese business forum will soon be organized in Lisbon with the aim of strengthening economic and trade relations between the two countries, as well as studying prospects for cooperation and partnership.

This was announced by Omar Raccache, Director General of the Algerian Agency for Investment Promotion, during a meeting with the Portuguese Minister of State for International Trade and Foreign Investments, Bernardo Ivo Cruz.

The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss legislative and regulatory developments in Algeria, as well as efforts to remove obstacles faced by investors.

Omar Rakach affirmed that all conditions for receiving direct Portuguese investments in Algeria have been met, in order to advance them at the level of political relations between the two countries.

During this meeting, it was agreed to activate the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2014 between the National Agency for Investment Development (ANDI) and the Portuguese Trade and Investment Agency, as well as the Joint Technical Committee.

This revitalization will be followed by practical measures to increase the number of Portuguese investments in Algeria and to strengthen cooperation between companies from the two countries.

The Portuguese foreign minister stressed the importance of the Algerian-Portuguese business forum, which will be held soon in Lisbon, with the participation of operators and officials from both countries.

This event will be an opportunity to make Portuguese operators aware of the benefits offered by Algerian legislation, in particular the new investment law, as well as to exchange information and knowledge between companies operating in various sectors.

The Algerian-Portuguese Business Forum attests to the will of the two countries to strengthen economic and trade cooperation between them. The Algerian authorities have taken measures to facilitate investment, while Portugal seeks to develop its relations with Algeria. Thus, this initiative is an important step in bringing together investors from the two countries.
