Access to many Microsoft services is disrupted due to outages

The US group said on Twitter that several Microsoft services, including the Teams collaborative work tool or Outlook messaging, were not available on Wednesday morning worldwide due to outages that are still under investigation.

“We are investigating issues affecting multiple Microsoft 365 services,” a Microsoft service account wrote on Twitter at 07:31 GMT.

And on the social network, many users around the world complained that they could not access their usual tools.

“I have a task due in half an hour on Teams and the servers are not working in India. Please do something,” one user wrote.

On the specialized Downdetector website, incidents have been reported in the US and Europe for many other Microsoft services, from the Xbox Live gaming platform to the LinkedIn social network.

Contacted, the group did not respond to AFP’s requests on Wednesday.

The computer giant announced in mid-January that it would lay off about 10,000 employees by the end of March (just under 5% of its workforce), citing economic conditions and changing priorities for its customers, and shaking up an already battered sector a little more by several major social plans.
