800 students experience science

Under its guise as a fun exhibit, it is nonetheless a true science experiment, one of 36 put together by MEEF (Teaching, Education and Training Professions) MSc students as part of the 12th edition of Do Science at School. The event, yesterday, mobilized 120 students and nearly 800 pupils from about twenty primary schools in the department.

We are here to show them that the most important thing is to pursue their idea.

Volcano, robot, planetarium, slime making, or how to make science more fun and encouraging invitations from an early age. confirms Yennanissie, CM1 student at the Alain-Fournier School in Angoulême. “I loved it, especially the magnet experiment. It’s really cool because you learn while having fun.”. Alongside him, his mentor Anouk Fu emphasizes the interest of the amazing side of the workshops. “It allows children to interact with science. Even if they don’t understand everything, I will be able to use these funny experiments to deal with these concepts in class.”.

In addition to its mission to promote science in the school, the day serves as a case study for MEEF Masters students from La Couronne. Event organization is an integral part of the training course for these future teachers. “We have been supporting them since September in creating this project, but they are the ones who organized everything.”Cecile LaLanne, a science and technology coach, attests, before adding: “Obviously there has been a little bit of tension in recent days, but we are here to let them gain self-confidence and show that the most important thing is to follow through on their idea.”.


Almost 800 students from across the department participated in the event.

In order to best accommodate the 35 classes of the primary school, all young people were mobilized into training. “As second-year students, we took care of the organization and coordination, and our first-year classmates lead the workshops. There is a real concept of transition between us.explained Celia Zorley and Marion Barbier, 23, who play communications directors today.

At their side, Michel Bonsaz, 67, a former coach, is watching them kindly. “For most of them, this is their first experience of dealing with children. Sometimes they need a little advice to condition their speech, but they show a great deal of will ». Succession guaranteed.
