3 Tips to Avoid Breaking the Bank During Your Vacation

For many people, the word “vacation” rhymes with “spending,” but it's possible to treat yourself without spending a lot of money.

As a quarter of Quebecers go on vacation, Professionals' Financial's regional vice president of wealth management, Lea Saade, offered some ways to avoid overspending, in an interview with LCN.

“The important thing is not to create additional financial stress, especially when we come back from vacation and receive our credit card statements,” she said.

Here are three tips to pamper yourself without spending a lot of money:

Save in advance

“What I recommend is to open a bank account specifically for holidays, where we collect an amount every two weeks when we get paid,” Leah Saadeh said.

The expert suggests starting to save in this way 6 to 12 months before the start of the vacation.

Plan well

“You have to be rigorous in your planning, and look and find where you can save money,” said Mr. Hans.I happiness.

This particularly suggests using public transportation and renting accommodation with a kitchen to avoid going to restaurants too often.

Do not misuse your credit card.
