Antonio Felix da Costa’s reaction at the foot of the podium. The Portuguese, a Formula E DS driver, won the LMP2 title at the 2022 24 Hours of Le Mans with Englishman Will Stevens and with Mexican driver Roberto Gonzalez.

“That’s crazy. I love the stamina because it’s not just up to you. It’s around you, two other drivers and great engineers and mechanics, and a lot of people who have worked on the car for a long time. It’s really frustrating in a race when, as it happened to me before, you have Trouble from two or three o’clock.
It was so hard in the last hour, the past half hour, the last quarter of an hour, and you don’t want anything bad to happen… It’s crazy to live these moments and these feelings. And then we cross the finish line and take the trophy!
During the race I was not nervous because of our pace but because of the things that are out of our control: the safety car, the slow zone… We want to keep our calm and follow. You want everything to be fine. The battle was bitter. It’s a great win. I finished second here, 15 seconds after winning. There, we win by a minute. LMP2 is more competitive than ever with top level drivers and teams. WEC is on the cusp of a fantastic period with Hypercar and LMDH. Winning here may my phone ring tomorrow. »
