The New York Post revealed that a 12-year-old girl shot her father and then shot herself in Texas after making a pact with a friend to kill their family.
Around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, Parker County, Texas police officers were called to a house in Weatherford, where gunshots were heard.
Once they arrived, officers found the 12-year-old lying in the street next to a pistol, probably shot in the head.
Her 38-year-old father was found inside the house with an abdominal injury.
The teenage girl and her father were flown to the hospital.
Investigators say the teen and her friend planned the brutal murder of their family and pets for weeks, in what appeared to be a plot to flee to Georgia together.
The friend reportedly did not follow her part of the plan, however, the Parker County, Texas sheriff told the New York Post.
She was still charged with conspiracy to murder.
The teen’s and father’s identity was preserved to protect the girls who were still minors.
